CARTER LAKE, Iowa (AP) – Some 150 years after experiencing the loss of its homeland by the U.S. Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is commemorating an accomplishment with the opening of a casino site planned to safeguard a stream of profits for the long-struggling people. The only point standing in its method? An initiative by federal governments in Iowa and also Nebraska that looks to remove it from the gambling enterprise. Ponca Tribal Chairman Larry Wright. 10 million Prairie Flower Casino opened up in November with 200 slot-style makers after the National Indian Gaming Commission accepted the people’s online casino permit a year previously, some 10 years after the people started its initiative to open up the gambling enterprise.
